Kuakata is attrative torist zone of Bangladesh. It is locally known as Sagar Kannya (Daughter of the Sea) is a rare scenic beauty spot  of the Bangladesh. Kuakata is located in Latachapli union under Kalapara thana of Patuakhali district is about 31 km in length and 7 km in breadth. It is 71 km from Patuakhali district headquarters and 321 km from Dhaka. It has a wide sandy beach from where one can see both the sunrise and sunset everyday. 
 Kuakata always offers you a full view of the sunrise and sunset from the  white sandy beach in the water of the Bay of Bengal. If you go on the eastern end of the beach you will see here Gongamati Reserved Forest, an evergreen mangrove forest and snippet of the original Kuakata. The best way to reach the forest Gongamati is by foot or bike along the beach, where a flying fishing boats can be seen trawling the coast. The perfect time to visit Gangamati in the late afternoon to watch the sun caste shadows on the abstract exposed mangrove roots. . It is not only a beach but also a place for migratory winter birds. Every winter season about 20000 thousend migratory birds come here.
Muslim,Hindu and Buddhist communities live in Kuakata. The main festival is ‘Rush Purnima' and 'Maghi Purnima'. On these two occasions take holy bath at the bay and participate in the traditional fairs. You may also visit the 100 years old Buddhist Temple where the statue of Goutama Buddha and two wells of 200 years old are located. You can visit the life style of tribe Rakhains in Kuaka. They are very friendly to the tourist and visitors.
Fisherman village is another place of Kuakata where you can visit and watch the lifestyle of the fisherman and their family. You may also go for fishing on the fishing boat if you can manage the local fishermen. That will give you pleasure and experience of tour. In the fishermen village you can purchase some fresh hilsha fish from them and there are some local restaurants where you can get the Hilshas cooked and ready for eating.

You can go to Kuakata By Air, Public Bus, BRTC Tourist Bus and By steamer and launch.
